Assassins Creed 3: The game to be excited aboutAssassins Creed series. It is by far one of the best and innovative series to be made this gen. This is only confirmed with the next instalment in the series: Assassins Creed 3. This article will outline why it should be on your list of games to get this year and why it should be better than its predecessors.
StoryThe story takes off from where Revelations left off, with Desmond arriving in New York to find another piece of Eden. The story of Connor Kenway takes place during the American Revolution, in which Connor can explore Boston and New York too. Connor is drawn into the fight between the Americans and the British when his home is attacked by colonists. This takes Connor on a path where he meets historical figures such as George Washington and Benjamin Franklin. The story will take place over 30 years of Connors life from 1753 to 1783.

The game had first gotten some criticism over the fact that in the trailers it seemed more like it was the Americans and Connor vs. the British. The latest “AnvilNext” trailer however assured the fans and critics that Connor doesn’t take sides and that there are Templars within both the American and British ranks.
The history behind Assassins creed games is what makes this game that much more entertaining and making the player want some more and eager to learn more behind the characters they come across. Adding historical figures in the previous games such as, Leonardo Da Vinci and Machiavelli got me genuinely interested in the history between those two characters and made me research into those characters more. For example, did you know Machiavelli was crazy and wanted Da Vinci to steal a river for him? Yeah. Assassins Creed made me find that out.
PlatformingUbisoft seem to be making the platforming better with each game in the series. From the leap in AC2 to the Hookblade in AC:Revelations, they know how to make an Assassin get from point A to B. In the latest addition to the series, Connor, can now finally do what no assassin in the past has ever done: climb trees.
As shown from gameplay trailers, Ubisoft have redone how the platforming works and it seems it is much smoother and Connor seems more agile than the previous assassins. This might be because of his native upbringing so free running, such as, climbing trees and cliffs may come naturally to him.

It seems they have also added more interactivity to the character with his surrounding, as he is seen leaping over wagons and sliding under obstacles as well as jumping through windows going inside buildings. This however might just be short animations that the player has no control over but it still is better just to have that interactivity there.
Being 1.5times bigger than Rome in AC: Brotherhood, I am looking forward to climbing the random building, or even tree, for no reason and then jumping off for the giggles
CombatWith every new era, come new weapons. The arsenal of Connors weapons include: the knife, tomahawk, flintlock pistols, bow and arrow and also the return of the Hidden Blades which all assassins must have. As shown in previous trailers Connor has been shown to use the tomahawk as a standalone weapon as well as a projectile thrown at enemies, which is exactly what I was hoping for when I first saw it.

They’ve added much more to the combat in this game, for example the character can now attack whilst running. No more did you have to pull over just to kill someone that kept chasing after you. Thousands of new animation has been apparently added into the game some of which have been carried on from the last game.
Now if you love AC just as much as me you’d know that the combat is one of the things that make these games amazing. The animations to a counter, the different ways of killing an enemy it all just made the idea of you being an assassin that much more satisfying.
MultiplayerNow since I’ve luckily and thankfully had a chance to have some hands on experience with the Multiplayer and being a fan of the previous multiplayer, I am really amped for the online aspect of this game. Announced in the “AnvilNext” trailer, Wolf Pack and Domination are added game modes to the game as well as the original game modes such as, Wanted, making a return.

Domination is a really good concept and surprised they added it into this game, yet it works so well you wonder why it hadn’t been added earlier. If you’ve played any FPS game you’d know what it is but to put it simply there are 3 flags on the map and your team has to hold the most flags for the longest time in the game.
Wolf Pack is another new addition where 2 to 4 players have to kill NPCs during a time limit, possessing 25 sequences. The more NPCs they kill the more seqiences are unlocked.
As you can see it’s a huge improvement over the games predecessors. This might even be a Game of the Year nominee. Look out for future news on Assassins Creed 3 and get pre-ordering!
