If you take a look at the recent launch of Max Payne 3 you might have noticed the 35GB file size that PC users had to face, and while the Xbox 360 version had two discs at 15GB it was pretty obvious PS3 users only needed one Blu-ray. This recent Rockstar release had led some bloggers to guess what we might see when GTA 5 gets a release date, and eventually an install size for PC users.
What do the gamers think the Grand Theft Auto V storage size will be? Whether you’re a PC, Xbox 360, or PS3 user it’s always good to know how many discs will be coming with an upcoming title you want. While some PS3 users state “I have Blu-ray so I don’t care“, others are not in that position and need to know considering the amount of storage they have. You’ll find some Xbox 360 users that don’t care for Blu-ray drives in the Xbox 720, or even as an external option on the Xbox 360 and some PC users have massive hard drives and don’t see file sizes a problem if buying the retail box.
Could we be looking at 50GB plus for the GTA 5 version? One of the reasons file sizes are so much for modern games is thanks to dialogues in many languages, which take up a lot of the games size. We’ve seen some developers, and smart gamers, claim that almost half a games size could be taken up for different languages. This means it’s very likely that GTA 5 will be much bigger than 30GB, and could be over 50GB if there are a lot of language choices.
Will you need to buy some bigger hard drives for your PC within the next year? Would you like a Blu-ray drive option on the Xbox 360, or in the Next Xbox? You can read one bloggers view on a possible file size for GTA 5 here, and we touched on physics and destruction a few days ago in this article. Now all we got to do is wait for a release date and hope this slot actually becomes a reality.
