Η THQ προετοιμάζεται για την επόμενη γενιά Μπορεί η εταιρία να περνάει από 40 κύματα και μεγάλες περιπετειες λόγω των οικονομικών της, αλλά πλέον δίνει έμφαση σε λίγους τίτλους και έχει ξεκινήσει ήδη την ανάπτυξη παιχνιδιών για την επόμενη γενιά κονσολών. Ο CEO Brian Farrell δήλωσε ότι είναι έτοιμοι να φέρουν καινούρια και υπάρχοντα IPs στις επόμενες κονσόλες: "We have promising new games that are positioned well for introduction early in the next cycle. We also have several franchises that we can continue to build from the current to the next-generation."
Επίσης ανακοινώθηκε πως το Saint's Row the Third είναι ο σταρ των πωλήσεων, φτάνοντας μέχρι και σήμερα τις 4.25 εκατ. κόπιες. Ο συγκεκριμένος τίτλος δε, έχει σημειώσει τα υψηλότερα έσοδα από οποιονδήποτε άλλο τίτλο στην ιστορία της THQ.
Συνολικά το IP από τότε που βγήκε στα ράφια το 1ο, έχει ξεπεράσει τα 11 εκατ. κομμάτια κάνοντας το το πιο επιτυχημένο IP της εταιρίας.
To τελευταίο DLC του Final Fantasy XIII-2 τώρα διαθέσιμο για Xbox Live – Αύριο στο PSN Το expansion περιλαμβάνει 2 νέα επεισόδια, ‘Lightning’s Story: Requiem of the Goddess’ και ‘Snow’s Story: Perpetual Battlefield’, καθώς και White and Black Mage Costumes και ‘Mog’s Outfits: A Wondrous Wardrobe, όπου περιλαμβάνει 16 κοστούμια για τους συντρόφους των Noel and Serah.
About “Lightning’s Story: Requiem of the Goddess”: This DLC reveals the full arduous battle of Lightning and Caius. Players will be able to take control as Lightning who has a special ability available only for this episode. This episode includes important information relating to the overall storyline of FINAL FANTASY XIII-2 and players are therefore encouraged to complete the game prior to playing through this new content!
About “Snow’s Story: Perpetual Battlefield”: Snow is engaged in battles at the Coliseum after being separated from his fiancée, Serah. The episode also features a battle against the “Arbiter of Time,” who has been watching events unfold at the Coliseum. Snow should pose a difficult challenge to players and will allow them to end the Coliseum battles on a high note, and ultimately unlock Snow as a party member.

Activision Reaches Settlement With EA Over Call Of Duty Activision and Electronic Arts have reached a settlement in the on-going Call of Duty lawsuit that began two years ago.
Details about the settlement today were not disclosed at this time. Activision's request to delay the trial date after hiring a new lawyer, Beth Wilkinson, was also denied. The original court date of May 29 will continue. The case now includes former Infinity Ward heads Jason West and Vince Zampella and the Infinity Ward Employee Group.
EA was accused of aiding West and Zampella's departure from Activision. EA will now be removed from the lawsuit.
Activision recently paid out $42 million to the Infinity Ward Employee Group earlier this week.

*New Lollipop Chainsaw Trailer — Funny or Too Far? A new Lollipop Chainsaw trailer (or short film) was just released announcing the “Extra Super Special Edition”. In it, a group of three “average” male gamers demo the Special Edition, which includes a life size remote control version of the chainsaw-wielding Juliet (portrayed by expelled-PAX Cosplayer, Jessica Nigri). Once revealed, one of the men goes on a rant, detailing all of the sexual (if you can call them that) acts that he would like to do to her. Eventually (spoiler alert), the three men fight over the controller until Juliet accidentally chainsaws them to death. Is this too far for a video game trailer?
It could be argued that the trailer comes off as sexist. After all, though censored, the laundry list of acts he would like to commit to her is pretty explicit. In a game that some have already accused for “objectifying women”, it certainly doesn’t bode well when the target audience is portrayed as sexually rabid.
Conversely, the trailer could be seen as a statement against the sexual nature of the game. The gamers are obsessed with Juliet and when they attempt to get fresh with her, she chainsaws them to death, proving that she’s not one to be crossed.
Honestly, though, regardless of how you interrupt the ad, the real crime here is against comedy. The whole video just comes across as awkward and juvenile. It’s a cute idea, but the execution seems like what a group of 15 year olds would produce, mistaking sexual references for comedy.
There’s a lot of satire to be had with this concept that is being missed. Hopefully Lollipop Chainsaw proves to more clever than the marketing around it. Lollipop Chainsaw - Extra Super Special Edition Trailer
*Rumor: Mirror’s Edge 2 to appear at E3 2012! Fans of DICE’s Mirror’s Edge have been enticed by details of a sequel in the making. Up until now, it’s seemed like a back-burner idea, but in recent months there have been some more promising developments. With E3 right around the corner, rumors are flying about many upcoming titles. Recently, a former EA employee’s resumé was discovered on LinkedIn, which makes reference to work on Mirror’s Edge 2, specifically crowd behavior using the Unreal 3 engine.
Rumors began to fly in July of 2011 of a Mirror’s Edge sequel that would make use of the Frostbite 2 engine, the same one that Battlefield 3 was built on. There’s no question that the city’s stark whites and clean colors would look phenominal using Frostbite 2, but it might give DICE liberty to adventure out into more natural-looking environments as well, giving the Mirror’s Edge universe a more organic side. The rumors of a Mirror’s Edge sequel really started to solidify in October of 2011, when DICE’s Patrick Liu commented that the Mirror’s Edge franchise is “something that people are ready to get into again.” Nearly three quarters of a year later, it seems like a good time for DICE to unveil Mirror’s Edge 2 at E3 the week of June 4. Hopefully we’ll get to see some exciting material to whet our appetites!
