Update: It has been reported that these images could be modified screens of DUST 514 and, therefore, could quite possibly be fake. The same YouTuber, zevodesign, “leaked” this “Black Ops 2″ image below which is straight from the DUST 514 trailer. Consider these debunked.

Black Ops 2 – What We Know So Far

After watching the Black Ops 2 pre-release trailer, far too many times, analysing and noting down everything we can see we’ve finally come up with a list of pretty much all of the different things we know so far.
Whilst none of this is actually confirmed, it is at least how we interpret it all.
Black Ops 2 Features
*The campaign will span from the 1980s right up until the future of 2025.
You will play as Alex Mason (from the original Black Ops in the 1980s part of the game. Then in the futuristic setting you will play as David Mason, Alex Mason’s son.
* The United States’ futuristic unmanned drones have been taken over by Raul Menendez, the bad guy. We will see him how he changes from a loyal soldier to the villain as the game progresses.
*We see Raul Menendez in his stronghold that’s located somewhere in the Middle East. He meets with an unknown man in the 1980s period.
* In the future of 2025, we can see that china is now the world’s largest superpower and has possession of over 95% of Earth’s natural resources. This is what begins the new Cold War.
* Alex Mason and Sgt. Woods’ old squadron, the S.O.G, will return. David Mason is a part of them in the 2025 era.
* David Mason is seen escorting the future President out of Los Angeles.
*The SAS are back. We can see them fighting through a dockyard in Singapore.
* Campaign missions will allow more freedom for players by taking place in more sandbox environments instead of the typical 1 way corridor type maps. Players are also given the choice of what they do through ‘Strike Force’ missions that can completely change the game’s plot.
* You are able to control different soldiers as well as vehicles or drones to give a whole new perspective to the battlefield.
* Future technology so far consists of x-ray scanners, CLAW mech tanks, quadrator drones, wrist devices / computers, tilt-jets, stealth bombers and of course guns but with massive attachments.
*Pistols have QR codes on them (we have no idea why yet).
* There’s a 1980s scene where there is a horse chase… very wild west style but in the Middle East.
* Multiplayer is going to be completely different. They have taken away all the added features and gone back to the fundamentals to make the game fresh again. Rumours say that only two perks will be returning.
* Zombies mode will of course be returning but will be considerably bigger.
That should be enough information for you all to wrap your heads around for now. But we will still of course keep on posting new information as we find it.

Interesting idea from Warren Frost regarding the QR codes.
The QR code is probably because the military have a future idea that instead of signing a gun out of the armory by writing down the serial codes and signing you will just be able to scan them out with the QR codes to make it easier and quicker instead of having serial numbers.
