While Microsoft has been offering some official details of what we can expect from the Windows 8.1 upgrade later this year, the company has so far been silent on what it has planned for the next "Blue" version of Windows Phone. Now there's evidence that Microsoft has started to test an early build of what will likely be called Windows Phone 8.1.
Windows Phone developer Tom Myles posted up an image of his analytical data from one of his apps, Archiver, on Reddit earlier today. Among the different version numbers for Windows Phone 8, there was one that stood out for what looks like Windows Phone 8.1. Specifically, the version number was 8.10.12076.0. Windows Phone 8 devices have the current build number of 8.0.1211.204.
Of course, a build number for Windows Phone 8.1 is just about all we have in terms of info about the next version of Microsoft's mobile OS. Microsoft will likely reveal a lot more about Windows Phone 8.1 as part of its BUILD 2013 developers conference, which will be held in San Fransisco in late June. While Windows 8.1 will officially launch later in 2013, there's been so such information on when Windows Phone 8.1 will be made available.
Microsoft to bundle Office 2013 in "small" Windows 8 tablets for free

Aside from announcing that Outlook 2013 will be coming to Windows RT 8.1 later this year, Microsoft has revealed at Computex 2013 that all new "small" x86 tablets running Windows 8 will come with basic Office 2013 apps for free. Tami Reller at Microsoft's keynote said that Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote would be bundled on new 7- and 8-inch Windows 8 tablets, but didn't provide any other details.
This follows with what we've seen in recent tablet launches, such as the 8-inch Acer Iconia W3, which comes with a free copy of Office 2013 installed out of the box. Expect more information about Windows 8 and the inclusion of these Office 2013 apps at BUILD 2013, Microsoft's developer event scheduled for later this month.
