The Assassinate The Führer DLC is a new challenge mission for Sniper Elite V2 that tasks you with stopping Hitler from crossing into Berlin on his private train. It’s only one mission, which can only be played solo, that’s not very long at all and will only take most gamers about 30 minutes to complete, if that. The mission requires you to reach a vantage point near the train yard where Hitler is going to arrive in his convoy, and then eliminate him before he can reach his train. Once you start to shoot you will encounter multiple groups of enemies, while Hitler moves from cover to cover on his way to the train car, so you only have a few seconds to take your shot each time he moves to a new piece of cover. It may take you a few tries to kill him, but since there are checkpoints you will only have to redo so much of the mission. Once it’s over, you’re done and there is nothing else to do in this DLC.
Verdict
The fact that this new mission will only take most gamers around 30 minutes to complete and it costs $10 is a huge reason to not buy it. Even though the content you get is decent in quality and fun to play, it’s just not enough to warrant such a high price tag. If 505 Games had either included more content in the Assassinate The Führer DLC or priced it under $5, then I would recommend picking it up, but as it is I don’t even think hardcore fans of the game will feel like they got their money’s worth with this one.
