Dead Space 3 Dev Team Kicks Off Blog SeriesThe developer team of Dead Space 3 have announced a series of in-depth blog posts about the upcoming game. In the first, Patrick Lipo, the lead level designer, has given quite a look into the intricacies of the third edition of the Dead Space story. ”We take a lot of pride in what we’ve been able to add to the player’s experience while still delivering the horror and thrills that the series was built upon,” says Lipo.
The dev team is collaborating to bring the best Dead Space experience possible. There will be new hostile environments, such as creepy claustrophobic ship decks and a graveyard of long-dead vessels. It’s not just the ghouls that are out to get Isaac Clarke, but the entire place as well. The loneliness and isolation are bound to make for desperate moves.
If horror is what you are looking for in this game, then horror is what you will get. The setting for this chapter of the story is on a remote alien planet. Cold winds, cracking ice, and blinding snow hide the terrors just out of sight. Humans are trapped in tiny bubbles, separated from a cold, airless death by just a thin sheet of metal. Don’t trust what you see.
In the solo mode of Dead Space 3, Isaac will be on his own. Carver won’t be there to back Isaac up, but he will be seen from time to time over the course of the game. He has his own demons to battle. If you play co-op, two people are definitely needed to defeat the foes set before you. Although, no matter how you play, there are plenty of optional areas to explore and discover.
That’s just a wee bit of what to expect from Dead Space 3 stayed tuned for more blogs from the game’s dev team.
