Mass Effect 3 completed by just 42% of players



BioWare’s Fernando Melo revealed the game’s completion statistic at GDC Europe, as reported by Eurogamer.

Just 42% of players have finished Mass Effect 30 even five months after launch.

56% who got through Mass Effect 2, a stat which jumped significantly as players prepped save files for Mass Effect 3′s launch in march this year.

Interestingly, while Mass Effect 3′s multiplayer mode increased the amount of people playing the game, it didn’t increase the amount of time people spent with it.

Melo said Mass Effect 3′s completion rate is actually higher than other BioWare games; 40% finished Mass Effect, 36 % completed Dragon Age: Origins, and 41% of Dragon Age 2 players made it all the way through.

Ακόμα ένα multiplayer event για το Mass Effect 3
Η BioWare δημοσίευσε πληροφορίες για το επερχόμενο multiplayer event του Mass Effect 3, σε μια προσπάθειά της να ξανακερδίσει τους gamers που παράτησαν το παιχνίδι. Το Operation Alloy, όπως είναι ο τίτλος του, θα διεξαχθεί αυτό το Σαββατοκύριακο και θα ανταμείβει όσους πετύχουν τους στόχους με Commendation και Victory Packs. Οι στόχοι είναι οι εξής:



• Individual Goal: Promote 2 characters
• Allied Goal: Promote 50,000 characters
• Special Circumstance: None

Mass Effect 3 marketing wanders into batshit crazy mode
Mass Effect 3′s upcoming Leviathan DLC is probably the genesis of some very odd happenings in BioWare land.



The BioWare blog is playing host to a strange post from the Alliance News Network:

“Top of the line security, huh? Hmph. I don’t think so! I’ve successfully hacked into the Alliance News Network’s terminal, but this isn’t a safe connection and I can’t stay long. I don’t want to reveal my location on the Citadel and give C-Sec the advantage. I must be heard! Go read about everything that Hackett is trying to cover up! I am Bernard Plim and I speak the truth,” the post reads.

Fans are then directed to something called the Conspiracy Accountability League, which contains just one post – other links return the user to the Mass Effect website.

According to the blog, the Alliance is behind the top-secret Reaper investigation, Task Force Aurora.

“I have tried to contact Admiral Hackett myself, but he won’t return my calls. WHY NOT?! Is it because he’s HIDING SOMETHING? I’m sure that he feels safe on his space station home as we all sit by and watch our friends and families get juiced by the Reapers, but I DON’T and NEITHER SHOULD YOU—we need to DEMAND ACCOUNTABILITY. I encourage you to write or send a vid to Admiral Hackett and the Citadel Council demanding them to come clean and TELL US WHAT THEY KNOW!!!!!!”

I have absolutely no idea what this means but Leviathan, Mass Effect 3′s first substantial single-player DLC, arrives on August 28 (or regional cnsole update schedule) for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and apparently delves further into the mystery of the Reapers.

Mass Effect – new game planned, ME3 Omega DLC due in fall
Mass Effect 3 has more content on the way, and BioWare Edmonton and Montreal general manager Aaryn Flynn has plans for another Mass Effect are being mulled around.



Speaking in a blog post on the official BioWare webiste, along with the announcement of Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk’s departure from the firm after 20 years, Flynn said the latest single-player DLC for Mass Effect 3 coming this fall will be called “Omega”.

“Casey Hudson and his team are coming off an amazing eight-year run with the Mass Effect trilogy, but they’re not done yet,” wrote Flynn. “We are releasing more multiplayer content and we have more single-player stories coming throughout the next six months, including Omega which is coming in the Fall.

“But the Mass Effect universe is vast, and Casey and our teams have plans for another full game. Where to go next? With such a project has been a question a lot of us have been asking, and we’d all love to hear your ideas.”

There’s also more on the slate than a new Mass Effect and Dragon Age 3, according to Flynn.

“While Casey continues to oversee the development of our new Mass Effect project, he and his leads are putting together their vision for an all new game set in a fictional universe, built from the bottom-up with all new gaming technology,” he said.

“As the GM for Edmonton and Montreal, I know that creative people are delivering new content and gameplay for established franchises, and new games that go in new directions.

“Ray and Greg built BioWare to last. They’ve always known their retirement would come one day, so they developed a team of people who would ensure their standards and culture would endure. We’ll humbly carry that torch and continue learning in the process.”

Zeschuk and Muzyka both announced their retirement from BioWare this afternoon, after rumors of a planned departure started swirling in April.
