Hideo Kojima appreciation thread
Why I Think Hideo Kojima Visited Naughty Dog in Los Angeles

That's right! Hideo Kojima snapped this picture with the Naughty Dog studio higherups Christophe Balestra and Evan Wells today, in their office in Los Angelas. Why Kojima was there, is still unknown. What is interesting is that the visit was not just a stroll into their office, but rather a planned visit since his itinerary did include a visit to Naughty Dog.
Naughty Dog did not let Kojima leave without a parting gift. Kojima left with a pretty sweet goodie bag. He tweeted a picture of the goodie bag and the picture with the crew today.

Okay, this is where we begin speculations. I'll start off with what we all want to believe. Since Eastern developers are looking to Western developers for assistance, we all hope that Hideo Kojima is maybe looking for someone to develop a Metal Gear Solid V. I honestly cannot think of any other developer that guarantees success like Naughty Dog.

Metal Gear Solid 4 Gets Trophy Support; New Announcements Coming at August Event
Metal Gear Solid 4 will get a Trophy patch, according to an interview with Hideo Kojima in this week's Famitsu. The magazine does not reveal a date for the patch, but MGS4 is scheduled to receive a budget release in in August, so the timing could coincide with that.
The interview also reveals that Konami will hold a Metal Gear Solid 25th Anniversary Event on August 30 at Tokyo Midtown (the office complex that houses Konami's main office). There will be some sort of announcement at the this event, Kojima reveals in the interview. This announcement is apparently related to the vision he's previously shared about a game that connects people. Peace Walker's "Transfarring" component served as a test for this vision.
Update: This report does appear to be true! The Trophy support will be included out the box with a 3,990 yen "PlayStation 3 The Best" budget version of MGS4 in August. Current MGS4 owners will be able to patch their copy of the game.

Metal Gear Solid 4 Patch Includes Full Install Support
Kojima Productions has confirmed that Metal Gear Solid 4's upcoming patch will include not just Trophy support but full install functionality as well.
While the Trophy support was confirmed earlier, the wording at the official site suggested that the install functionality would be limited to the game's package re-release. This is not the case.
Select to give the game a full install, and you won't have to wait between chapters for data to be cached to your system's hard disc. This lengthy caching, which was accompanied by an image of Solid Snake smoking, was a major complaint by players.
The budget re-release that includes the new functionality by default will be released in early August. The patch for current owners will also be offered around this time.
