Earthworm Jim Creator Returns To Claymation With Armikrog
Doug TenNapel is best known for creating Earthworm Jim, and his work on the clay animated point-and-click adventure game The Neverhood. TenNapel has not worked in video games for more than a decade, but thanks to Kickstarter, he is making a return with Armikrog.
TenNapel and Pencil Test Studios have already made substantial progress on the game, showcasing a large amount of impressive animation in its Kickstarter pitch video. According to the video, much of the game's design and puzzles have also already been mapped out. The game will be a point-and-click adventure game, and appears to be a spiritual successor to The Neverhood, with its clay animation, and similar art style.
The team also has an impressive cast of actors already attached to the project with Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite), Rob Paulsen (Pinky and the Brain), and Michael J. Nelson (Mystery Science Theater 3000) among others.
TenNapel and Pencil Test Studios are asking for $900,000 to complete the project, and have already raised just under $100,000 with 29 days to go. To check out the Kickstarter project, head here.

After a rocky end to the development of L.A. Noire and the derailing of Team Bondi's next project, Whore of the Orient, a couple developers are branching off to form their own independent studio.
L.A. Noire and Whore of the Orient design lead Alex Carlyle has teamed up with former storyboarder Kelly Baigent to form Intuitive Game Studios, which hopes to "focus intently on quality and content to proudly produce exactly the kind of game we would want to play ourselves" according to its website.
MCV Pacific reports that instead of hiring a full-time staff, the studio is firming up its ranks with independent contract workers. The studio hasn't announced what type of projects it intends to work on, but we hope to learn more soon.
Hellraid
Techland has released new screenshots and details for their latest action title, Hellraid. From the developer that brought gamers Call of Juarez and Dead Island, Hellraid looks like a title going in a different direction from western shooters and survival horror.
Using a class system, players can choose between warrior, mage, paladin, and rogue and can further customize characters by upgrading abilities through skill trees and customizing weapons. Hellraid aims to combine RPG elements with hack and slash combat from a first-person perspective.
Hellraid can be played in both single-player and co-op mode for the story campaign, although Techland claims that the co-op mode offers more challenges for the player and friends to take on. A cooperative mode for online multiplayer is also available.
Slated for release in 2013, Hellraid will be available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
