Battlefield Heroes Halloween Trailer


The world is obsessed with blood-sucking demons and vicious werewolves, and so are we! Battlefield Heroes, the hit Play 4 Free third-person shooter has been invaded by vampires and werewolves. In a special month long event, the many millions of Heroes who have perished on the battlefield can be brought back to life. Anyone can fight alongside these preternatural beings but to become one players must purchase the all-new outfits as a special bundle on the website or as separate items in the in-game store. Once-dead Nationals can be transformed into blood-sucking vampires and Royals into teeth bearing werewolves. Three existing maps have been converted to an eerie night setting to set the stage for an epic battle between these immortal enemies.

Nintendo slashes annual profit forecast by 70% to $75 million
Nintendo has drastically cut its profit forecast for the year from 20 billion yen ($250 million) to 6 billion yen ($75 million) as it struggles to hold on to its gaming dynasty, according to Bloomberg. The company cited slack demand for its 3DS handheld and a strong yen as the reasons for the drop.

Consensus estimates compiled by Bloomberg had pegged Nintendo’s annual performance at 10.6 billion yen.

Nintendo has watched its gaming empire begin to crumble as casual gamers have switched in droves to playing games on their smartphones and tablets. The company has refused to bring its games to those platforms, preferring instead to cast its lot with its own hardware and software.

Last year, the company reported its first annual loss since it began publicly reporting earnings thirty years ago. It put its hopes in the 3DS, which was meant to bring glasses-free 3D gaming to the masses, but the device simply hasn’t caught on.

Nintendo is again trying to change its fortune with the release of its Wii U console next month. It has already kicked off its marketing blitz for the device, beginning with TV spots in the UK. The company expects to sell 5.5 million Wii U consoles by the end of its fiscal year, which comes on March 31.

Valve opens Steam for Linux beta registration, wants pros only



Right on schedule (ahem), Valve has begun requesting applications for the first Steam for Linux beta test. There are only 1,000 spots available, but the company is looking for "experienced Linux users" only -- presumably, ones that will be better at debugging than spilling zombie brains. Το 1ο gaming festival θα πραγματοποιηθεί φέτος στην περιοχή Γκάζι της Αθήνας και συγκεκριμένα στην Τεχνόπολη. Από τις 9 έως τις 11 Νοεμβρίου, οι μεγαλύτερες εταιρείες του χώρου των video games (είτε μέσω των τοπικών γραφείων τους, είτε μέσω των αντιπροσώπων τους) θα δώσουν το βροντερό «παρών» σε έναν ενιαίο χώρο και θα παρουσιάσουν όλες τις τελευταίες κυκλοφορίες σε επίπεδο software και hardware.




Στο χώρο θα λάβουν ακόμη χώρα ειδικά happenings, παρουσιάσεις και φυσικά δώρα, τα οποία περιλαμβάνουν πρόσφατα multiplatform releases και gaming gear! PC gaming, console gaming, portable gaming θα είναι όλα μαζεμένα στο χώρο, καλύπτοντας τις ανάγκες και τα «θέλω» τόσο του hardcore, όσο και του casual κοινού. Στο πλαίσιο του Gaming Festival θα διεξαχθούν τουρνουά στα League of Legends, FIFA 13, Street Fighter X Tekken, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 και Dead or Alive 5 με έπαθλα χρηματικά ποσά, games και περιφερειακά.

Resident Evil 1.5 – Fans recreate cancelled Resident Evil 2 Game

Remember the cancelled Resident Evil 2 game? Yeap, that one with Elsa Walker and Leon Kenedy? Well, good news everyone as a team of fans is currently recreating it. YouTube’s member ‘MrBZork’ has uploaded a video that showcases some of the action from this cancelled game. What is interesting here is that the video features some brand new – never before seen – scenes, suggesting that this is indeed a fan-made project or a total conversion for Resident Evil 2. There are hints for a Christmas reveal, though nothing is certain at this point. Naturally, since the team does not want to give away much – in order to avoid a C&D letter from Capcom – take it with a grain of salt. Enjoy!
