Planetside 2′s second continent goes live today
Planetside 2 beta testers will be able to explore the second of two pre-launch continents this week.
As detailed on Massively, Esamir is quite different from the crowded canyons and forests of Indar. A snowy landscape, Esamir has only about half as many structures and many more wide-open spaces, meaning you have more time to breath and plot than in the ambush-ridden landscape of Indar.
It also means it takes you a while to hoof it from one base to another, so there should be time to get settled and comfortable before your freshly-taken base comes under enemy assault. Like Indar, the entire length and breadth of Esamir has been designed by hand, so even with this emphasis on space there should be plenty of interesting nooks and crannies to find and exploit.
The snow and ice mean vehicles will handle differently, but Sony Online Entertainment also hopes that Esamir’s design will favour those who use vehicles creatively and reactively, rather than relying on a small number of strategies, as on Indar.
A third continent will eventually join Indar and Esamir, but possibly not till after launch. Planetside 2 is in closed beta but expected to go public later this year; it will be free-to-play but premium members score some sweet bonuses.

Deadly Premonition: The Director’s Cut Announced
Publisher Rising Star Games announced Deadly Premonition: The Director’s Cut for PlayStation 3. The new edition contains updated controls, new scenarios from director Hidetaka “Swery” Suehiro, and download content.
"Deadly Premonition: The Director’s Cut is both a love letter to fans that supported the game and a great update for new players," Rising Star Games product marketing manager Yen Hau said.
"With the enhancements and new content, the team is confident that old players will re-experience Deadly Premonition the way it was intended to be and that new players will discover a narrative experience unlike any other game."
[The press release says the game is coming exclusively to PlayStation 3 in Q1 2013 in North America and Europe.]

Ω ρε μάγκα μου, δεν το ήξερα αυτό το τιτλάκι...Το ψάχνω να το βρω στο ίντερνετ για να το αγοράσω και δεν το βρίσκω μέχρι στιγμής (για ps3).
Διάβασα λίγο περι τίνος πρόκειται, είδα και μερικά βιντεάκια και νομίζω επιβάλλει σεβασμό για ένα είδος που έχει χάσει την αίγλη του τα τελευταία χρόνια...

Sony postpones launch of new PS Store in Europe
According to a Sony, it’s “really important that the best possible Store experience” is delivered and, the firm asked for patience while the matter is resolved.
The store revamp was scheduled to go live in the UK and Europe yesterday, but Sony reverted the store back to the older version until the issues could be sorted.
Countries where the the new PlayStation Store is live include: Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Belgium, Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, UAE, Kuwait , Qatar, India, Israel and South Africa.
The new store is set to launch October 23 in the US.
