Samsung Galaxy S III gets the teardown treatment by iFixit and Chipworks



This has lead to some rather interesting discoveries as mentioned below.

- The battery has a built-in NFC chip, just like the one on the Galaxy Nexus. If you are getting a replacement, make sure it is the same model with the NFC chip built-in.
- The audio processor on the Galaxy S III is a Wolfson WM1811, unlike the infamous Yamaha YMU823 on the Galaxy S II and the popular Wolfson WM8994 on the Galaxy S.
The front protective glass has been fused to the display, which can lead to significant costs in case it breaks.
- The 8 megapixel camera on the back uses basically the same Sony BSI sensor used on the iPhone 4S. As such, any difference in image quality would be due to the use of different lens system and image processing. Η HTC θα φτιάξει το Playstation Phone



Κατά την διάρκεια της Press Conference της Sony, o CEO Andrew Hous ανακοίνωσε το πρώτο Playstation branded κινητό εκτός της εταιρίας. Θα το παράγει η HTC και τεχνικά χαρακτηριστικά δεν έγιναν γνωστά.

Επίσης ανακοινώθηκε ότι το PlayStation Suite, ένα toolkit που δίνει την δυνατότητα στους devs να συνδέσουν τα Playstation προϊόντα τους με τα Android κινητά και άλλες συσκευές, μετονομάζεται σε PlayStation Mobile.

Apple Continues to Dominate Tablet Market
ABI Research:
Apple’s 11.8 million iPad shipments were spurred by the launch of a third-generation lineup and price reduction on iPad 2 models, while Samsung’s 1.1 million shipments returned the vendor to the number two spot after Amazon’s Kindle Fire shipments fizzled entering 2012.
“A pattern similar to smartphones is also occurring in tablets,” says Jeff Orr, group director, consumer research. “Apple and Samsung have demonstrated staying power while other tablet vendors ebb and flow like the tide.”



That means that Apple has sold over 11 times more iPads than Samsung has sold of any of their tablets, and the fact that sales of the Kindle Fire are suffering suggests that consumers just aren’t thrilled with the idea of a 7-inch tablet – not even for $200!
The report also noted that Apple had a 185% gain on last year’s first quarter numbers, and currently represents 65% of the entire tablet market. Tablet market? Yeah right – there is no tablet market, just an iPad market!
