Android 4.2's Photo Sphere camera takes on iPhone's panorama mode



Android 4.2 is teeming with new features and system improvements, but you can bet that Photo Sphere will be the one that's talked about most amongst consumers. While Android phones on the whole have had panoramic modes for years, Apple's iOS 6 update added even more fuel to that fire. Now, Google's taking things to an entirely new level. With Android 4.2, users can snap pictures in every direction, and the system does the stitching. What you're left with are photos that can be navigated, taking viewers "inside of the scene." Photo Spheres are stored as JPEG files, and all of the information required to view them is embedded as open XML metadata in the image itself. You'll be able to peek 'em on your phone or share them easily through Google+, and perhaps best of all, publish them to Google Maps for the world to see. Jelly Bean firmware for the original Samsung Galaxy Note leaked



Samsung is putting in extra efforts to launch Jelly Bean update for the original Samsung Galaxy Note. Heck, the first firmware packing Android 4.1.1 has been leaked and caught by the experts of SamMobile. And as a good netizen, they’re sharing their findings with the rest of the community – the upcoming firmware update to the Galaxy Note will pack a number of features including the new Nature UX (as seen on the Note II), the ability to watch video previews with the S Pen (Air View), as well as the option to view two apps at once (Multi-Window). In addition, I would expect that many of the apps have been updated, some bugs fixed and that the device is more stable with the new software.

Unfortunately, Jelly Bean for the Galaxy Note is still not ready for prime time, though I guess the polishing on Samsung’s behalf is taking place as we speak with the final version coming in the next couple of weeks. We’ll let you know as soon as we hear anything new on this…

Nokia Uploads Lumia 920 Instructional Videos To Get You Started
The Nokia Lumia 920 can’t reach the shelves soon enough — alongside the rest of the phones from HTC, Samsung and Nokia — and it looks like the Finnish manufacturer is preparing future customers on the basics of the phone. Four instructional videos have been uploaded to YouTube for your viewing pleasure.

While there are no secrets in these videos you will definitely be more impatient after seeing them. There’s a video to teach you how to insert a SIM card (pretty much a standard with all phones that pack slide-in microSIMs), another one to show you how to turn data and WiFi on and off, setting up Office 365 as well as configuring your corporate e-mail.
