Ο διάδοχος του Race Driver: Grid είναι γεγονός και η Codemasters υπόσχεται το καλύτερο racing όλων των εποχών. Θα βγει εντός του 2013 στα Xbox360 και Playstation 3 με την έκδοση για PC να έρχεται λίγο αργότερα.

The game promises an "expansive career mode" in which players will experience Codemaster's new TrueFeel Handling System, and though the system is based on real physics, it aims to hit the "sweetspot between accessiblity and simulation and deliver handling that is approachable yet challenging to master."

Executive Producer Clive Moody says, “Grid’s back and we’re going to make street, track and road racing exciting again. The core design philosophy for Grid 2 is that we treat the race as a character, not a consequence of simply putting cars on tracks. Like its predecessor, GRID 2 will put the sheer thrill and adrenaline rush of the race at the heart of the experience. It’s what we call Total Race Day Immersion."

Grid 2 will span three continents and feature iconic automobiles selected from over four decades of racing history. Multiplayer is also being touted as a major component, integrating Codemasters's RaceNetm, which keeps track of all your best times and those of your closest rivals.

Χωρίς cockpit view το GRiD 2



Ο executive producer του επερχόμενου GRiD 2 Clive Moody ανακοίνωσε πως δε θα υπάρχει in-car cockpit κάμερα στο παιχνίδι, ενώ εξήγησε πως μόλις το 5% των παικτών χρησιμοποιούν τo εν λόγω view. Το ποσοστό αυτό πηγάζει από τις πληροφορίες που συλλέγει ο server της Codemasters κατά τη διάρκεια του παιχνιδιού σε όλους τους τίτλους της, ενώ αφαιρώντας αυτήν την επιλογή θα υπάρχει περισσότερος χώρος και χρόνος για να βελτιωθούν άλλα κομμάτια του παιχνιδιού, όπως η ρεαλιστική απεικόνιση των αυτοκινήτων, τα on-track περιβάλλοντα και οδηγική εμπειρία.

Η Codemasters ανακοίνωσε ότι το GRID 2 θα είναι διαθέσιμο για PC, PS3, και Xbox 360 από τις 31 Μαΐου. Δεν έμεινε όμως μόνο σε αυτό καθώς ανακοίνωσε πως μια Special Edition του παιχνιδιού είναι διαθέσιμη για προ-παραγγελία, με αυτούς που το κάνουν να μπορούν να επιλέξουν την έκδοση GRID 2: Brands Hatch, η οποία περιλαμβάνει και δυο επιπλέον πακέτα, τα McLaren Racing Pack και Head Start Pack.

Στο πρώτο θα αποκτήσουν την McLaren MP4-12C GT3 Special Edition, καθώς και δυο επιπλέον διαδρομές γύρω απο το Brands Hatch GP circuit, ενώ από το δεύτερο θα αποκτήσουν την Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 GT και θα απολαμβάνουν εκπτώσεις στο online κατάστημα αναβαθμίσεων αλλά και ένα μοναδικό RaceNet bonus.
