First Battlefield 3: Aftermath Details
EA and DICE revealed details about Aftermath, the upcoming Battlefield 3 download content scheduled for release this December. Aftermath includes four urban warfare maps, earthquake damaged terrain, new military and civilian vehicles, a new game mode, and new assignments, achievements, and dog tags.
Set amongst the shattered districts, streets and surrounding villages of a post-earthquake Tehran, Battlefield 3: Aftermath depicts a continuing struggle for supremacy and survival amongst the devastation. With operational capacity severely compromised the opposing forces must adapt and engage in vertical and horizontal urban combat amongst the dust and rubble with cracks and fissures in the terrain providing unexpected cover and paths to objectives.
Additional support comes in the form of heavily modified troop transports and civilian vehicles specially adapted to deliver deadly force to the enemy.
Aftermath is one of several download content packs for Battlefield 3. Back to Karkand was available in December last year. Close Quarters came out in June, Armored Kill is coming in September, and End Game is coming early next year.

EA recouped 440% revenue on Battlefield 3 Facebook ads
EA has attributed $12.1 million in Battlefield 3 sales to a Facebook campaign, a return of 440%.
New news came in Facebook’s first investor call, as reported by GI. Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg specifically highlighted the campaign.
“We’re making great progress measuring our ability to help marketers generate sales,” she said.
“Independent analysis of more than 60 campaigns, 45 of which were completed in the first half of this year, show that 70 per cent of those campaigns delivered a return on ad spend of 3x or better. And 49 per cent of those campaigns delivered a return of 5x or better.
“Electronic Arts recently spent $2.75 million promoting Battlefield 3 on Facebook. They attributed $12.1 million of their sales to these ads, translating to a 4.4x return on their Facebook marketing spend.”
Battlefield 3 released in late 2011.

Battlefield 3: Armored Kill Offers New Mode, Maps
EA has revealed new information about Battlefield 3’s upcoming Armored Kill expansion. Armored Kill will include four new maps, including Bandar Desert, the biggest map in Battlefield history. Also included will be new vehicles (including tanks, ATVs and mobile artillery), five new vehicle unlocks for the base game, 20+ new unlocks for the new vehicles and a new game mode called Tank Superiority, which the Battlefield Blog explains as involving tank pilots and infantry using "all their skills to control key points of the maps.”
Armored Kill will keep the player cap at 24 players on consoles, and the new maps will all be playable in all six of Battlefield 3’s game modes. Armored Kill is set to arrive in September and, like all Battlefield 3 content, will come to PlayStation 3 one week early.

Battlefield 3 Premium Passes 1.3 Million Subscribers
Electronic Arts creator and publisher of Battlefield 3 has announced its Q1 FY13 financial results this week, which reveal that their Battlefield 3 Premium service has sold over 1.3 million subscriptions to date.
In a similar way to the Call of Duty Elite service created by Activision for their games, EA’s Battlefield 3 Premium subscription services offers gamers premium options and features with the opportunity to play all upcoming Battlefield 3 expansion packs two weeks early.

Battlefield 3: Battlelog offline for maintenance tomorrow
Battlefield 3′s Battlelog service will experience some downtime tomorrow while the service undergoes an update, DICE has confirmed.
DICE confirmed the downtime in a blog post, which will run between 10:00-11:00 CET on August 9.
Server update:
- XP2 weapons were unavailable on unranked servers
- scoring was disabled altogether on unranked server
Battlelog:
- You can now accept/reject party invites
- Vote system has been fixed in polls
- Server browser shows the name of the current map
- User can now see if he/she has all unlocks for a vehicle in the Vehicle Stats page in the Unlocks section

Battlefield series celebrates 10 year anniversary: over 50 million served
DICE general manager Karl Magnus Troedsson took to GDC Europe today to celebrate his company's 20-year anniversary and the 10-year anniversary of its "core franchise," Battlefield. He revealed that the series has "served" more than 50 million players, and added that DICE is "still in love."
Battlefield's latest franchise entry, Battlefield 3, shipped over 12 million copies as of last November. Battlefield 4 is up next, expected in holiday 2013.
